Hi

For the ST line, we offer an extra battery pack that can be hot swapped during communication. For the EX version, this option will not be available for the first generation.

Note that we the device has a multitude of power save mechanisms, similar to a mobile phone. This means that it can operate much longer when not in conference mode.(Ie. browsing media, video recording, taking stills etc).

best regards

Hi. You are correct: Our intention behind hot Swap is swapping the second battery while in a conference. This is for availability critical applications (military, telemedicine etc). For the EX model, there is no second battery, so it will come with the primary battery embedded inside just like on an Iphone. 95% + of our customers within hazardous environments will not use the device for more than 5 hours a day without charging.

Hi. There is one internal battery and there is an external battery that attaches below the lens on the front when extended battery time is needed. The external battery charges the internal battery which again powers the circuit, enabling a hot swap battery system. The product data sheets does not show this feature yet :-)

Hi. The hot swap battery adds approx 300 grams. It adds additional 1.5 hours of 802.11n operation and 3 hours of 802.11g operation.
