Video technology
The introduction of High Definition TV standards have introduced the HD standards, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, enabling a substancial quality enhancement over the old PAL/NTSC standards, which has survived since the invention of the TV. The High Definition video standards combined with high performance digital video compression codecs like the H.264 codec (AVC) creates an important foundation for a new range of products. Progressive scan video is a very welcome feature in the video business. Traditionally, TV signals were introduced with Interlaced signals to achieve a better frame rate and optimize for CRT monitors. CRT monitors are now concidered "dead" and LCD, Plasma, DLP and LCoS monitors has taken over. These monitors handles Interlaced video very poorly and it is clear that the progressive standards will take over, leaving interlaced video a chapter of the past.
With the development of HD monitors, HD camera technology have emerged and become a consumer commodity. The availability of low power high efficiency hardware and software technology have created a new performance level in the field of digital video.

A range of standards have emerged as a result of the developments within audio, video and wireless technology
Audio technology
On the audio side, a range of high definition audio standards have revolutionized the quality, latency and user experiences. VoIP products are today offering superior quality, scaleability and flexibility compared to to traditional audio communication devices such as analog and circuit switched systems.
Communication technology
Combining the above mentioned digital audio video standards with Internet communication protocols opts for a range of opportunities for new and innovative products. The developments within web streaming standards and video conferencing standards have resulted in a set of industry standards that are now followed by the majority of the equipment manufacturers.
Wireless technology
The developments within wireless technologies has in the last ten years resulted in standards like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Wimax. These are versatile standards that has seen great success, as a result of subscription free access and low cost products in the consumer industry.
Technology melting pot
Pixavi has combined the above technologies and standards to create very powerful solutions and products. These are being realized in a broad product range that enables state of the art performance, interoperability and user experiences. The next pages will describe these technologies in details.
