WIMAX

WIMAX is a new wireless networking standard that enables high data rates over a wide physical range. It can simplified be described as a blend between 3G and Wi-Fi networks, with benefits from both the IT and Telecom worlds.

 

As the market demand for mobile connectivity and network scalability emerges, there is an increasing need for reliable wireless broadband solutions to provide the best possible wireless coverage, roaming and datarates.

 

Our Wimax communication solution enables the Xcaster and VisiWear series of products to connect to Wimax networks and integrates three technologies in one unit! The product is a 3 radio outdoor device, featuring Wi-Fi connectivity for access, Wi-Fi mesh support for network redundancy and a high capacity, carrier-class, WiMAX link in the unlicensed 5GHz frequencies for backhaul link and and high speed vehicular roaming over 802.16e. The blend of these three technologies delivers end-to-end QoS for triple-play applications and reduction in total cost of ownership.


The product contains one radio for WiMAX backhaul in the unlicensed 5 GHz range, one radio for Wi-Fi Mesh and one radio for standard "non mesh" 802.11 a/b/g tri-mode Wi-Fi access, Expanding Wi-Fi coverage over standard products.
