BARTEC devices are made with a variety of materials each with specific cleaning requirements. However, we want to share some general recommendations to make sure you are keeping your BARTEC devices sanitized and your workforce safe throughout the coronavirus outbreak. These guidelines can be applied without compromising the integrity of the hardware or endangering the safety of your workers.

General Cleaning and Disinfecting Guidelines

• Turn off and/or disconnect the device from any external power source before cleaning
• Do not clean or disinfect the device in the hazardous area
• Use a lint-free soft cloth damped with an alcohol solution or alcohol disinfecting wipe (maximum 70% isopropyl alcohol/ethanol) to gently wipe the device
• Do not spray any cleaning or disinfecting products directly onto the device
• Allow the device to air dry, or dry with a lint-free soft cloth, before use
• Ensure electrical contacts are fully dry before reapplying power

Device cleaning and hygiene policies

We recommend creating device cleaning and hand hygiene policies for your organization as soon as possible. This will help to ensure that employees are properly disinfecting their handheld devices and sanitizing their hands on a routine basis. It will also re-assure your employees that you are doing everything you can to prevent the transmission of bacteria and viruses in your workplace.
Protocols must clearly outline disinfection responsibilities, timing, and procedures. Regular education and training programs should be conducted and best practices established along with monitoring programs for compliance.
