April 10, 2017

Maersk Tankers recently went live with their mobility project, making warehouse as well as service and maintenance operations onboard their fleet of product tankers completely digital. The project is the first in the industry, deploying technology from BARTEC as well as ShipNet. With this tool, the service and maintenance operations team expect to have reduced costs, reduced downtime, improved asset management as well as improved HSE. The project features the Agile X tablet combined with ShipNet One Mobility software for Windows 10. The Agile X 10 inch tablet, with 1D and 2D built-in barcode scanner is the ideal tool chosen for this important job. Watch the video below for more information!

It will make us more efficient

– Tommy Thomassen, Maersk Tankers CTO

Maersk Tankers chose BARTEC since we offer a wide range of tablets, both ruggedized and explosion proof for use on the deck. The tablets has built-in barcode scanners, and full Windows 10 operating system combined with accessories such as docking and carry systems. The tablet explosion proof version can be used on the deck of the vessels, as well as performing tank inspections in complete safety. This is just the beginning! New features will be available soon.

Maersk Tankers owns and operates a large fleet of product tankers – all built and operated in accordance with the highest standards for quality and reliability. Maersk Tankers acquired their first dedicated tanker in 1928, and have been expanding and improving the fleet to meet changing customer needs ever since. Today, the Maersk Tankers fleet is one of the largest product tanker fleets in the world.
